THE ORIGINAL HAT BAR
The Original Hat Bar launched in 2020 in Dallas, Texas by former interior designer Brittany Cobb. It was the very first hat decorating concept of its kind – where creativity, personal style, and a love for hats came together in a beautiful, interactive space.
Customizing hats wasn’t new – but reimagining it as a retail experience with a curated spread of accessories displayed along a saloon-style bar where guests can step up and design their own, was groundbreaking. What started as a simple passion quickly grew into something much bigger: a global movement celebrating individuality through custom, one-of-a-kind hats.
At the heart of it all is our founder’s story. Brittany’s deep love for hats blends her passion decorating, fashion and protecting her skin while living with melasma, a common skin condition that causes discoloration from sun exposure. That personal need turned into a creative outlet, and ultimately, into The Original Hat Bar—a space where style meets purpose.
Today, we’re proud to inspire hat lovers around the world. But no matter how far we’ve grown, our mission remains the same: to create a welcoming, inspiring space where everyone can design a hat that feels uniquely theirs. Our sister shop inside the gorgeous Hotel Drover sits just across the lobby from 97 West Kitchen + Bar. The dreamy little Fort Worth outpost features handmade goods from local artisans, exclusive collections, and one-of-a-kind toppers from The Original Hat Bar, as well as sundries for the jet set.
